An Opinion

Rae Edelson, director of Gateway Arts from inception to retirement, wrote ..

"Reflecting on my over 40 years with Gateway, I must again tell you how indebted I am to you for giving me the architectural essence of how I envisioned the studio art center. Brilliant, and made it possible for me to develop it over the years from serving 8 artists to over 100. I could not have done this without you.

I miss Gateway and you of course, but rejoice in what we built together that seems to endure. Legacy is important, and you gave that to me.

The house you designed for the Schechners is magnificent, as of course what you did for Gateway.

You helped make my career and the art center, and hence my life and that of so many others."
